中国快速工业化、城镇化,以及气候变化引发的土地退化、污损和低效利用问题,对全球土地资源利用、农业生产与粮食安全带来了巨大挑战。针对这一影响全球农业可持续发展的新问题,刘彦随研究员倡导并发起成立了国际地理联合会农业地理与土地工程委员会,获得IGU批准并任首届主席。创新性地将农业土地工程理念与技术引入农业生产系统,遵循土地生态适宜性与作物生理适应性相匹配的原理,按照现代农业生态化、优质化与高效化需求,科学推进问题土地订单整治,通过创新结构化土地整治技术,系统推进土体营造、土层复配、土质改良,根本改善农业生产所必需的水、土、气、生立地条件,有效提升土壤质量和土地利用效率,确保把良种播在沃土中,促进了农业结构转型、生产方式转变,为区域可持续农业与农村发展、现代农业转型升级和粮食安全保障,提供了科技支撑、理论指导和工程技术示范。

Rapid process of industrialization and urbanization and the problem of land degradation, pollution and low land use efficiency caused by climate change bring great challenges to the global land use, agriculture and food security. The IGU Commission on "Agricultural Geography and Land Engineering (AGLE)" aims at this new problem which influences the global sustainable development of agriculture, innovatively introduces the concept and technology of land engineering into agricultural production system, and follows the principles of land ecological suitability and crop physiological adaptability, thus scientifically promotes the order-based land consolidation based on the demand of modern agriculture. By means of land consolidation, soil construction, soil remediation, complex techniques and so on, it completely changes the essential conditions for agricultural production, effectively improves soil quality and land use efficiency, and makes sure that the good seed in fertile soil. Therefore, it promotes sci-tech support, guidance and engineering demonstration for the global sustainable agricultural and rural development, transformation and upgrade of modern agriculture and food security.
