Chinese prize 2021 of
“National Advanced Collective for Poverty Alleviation”
The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) undertook the scheme of third-party assessment of Targeted Poverty Alleviation (TPA) effectiveness and established for the first time, a national expert group on TPA third-party assessment.
Pr. Yansui Liu from the IGSNRR, CAS was commissioned to chair the national TPA third-party assessment project during 2015-2020. The group pioneered the evaluation index system, technical specification, and management system platform for China’s TPA third-party assessment. Between 2015 to 2020, more than 10,000 experts participated in the assessment survey of 603 counties, 5,380 villages, and more than 160,000 farming households in 22 central and western provinces, which is the biggest in scale and the broadest in scope in the world.
